Can I meet with a potential provider first before booking?
Most of our providers offer a free consultation to determine if they are the right fit for your needs and family. You’re able to book up to 2 free consultations for any one service that you’re exploring, and additional consultations are available upon request for a $50 fee.
I am on a budget. How can I find free or low-cost care?
Okkanti is by design a place where all families can find the care that they need. We also want to ensure that those who provide these critical services to our communities are fairly compensated. When you create your profile, select all the payment options you might want to explore, including Insurance, subsidized care options, or payment plans. From these selections, we’ll be in touch with options.
Are the providers on the Okkanti CareFinder employees or independent contractors?
Okkanti is solving for the highly fragmented care community by bringing together your care options into one intelligent platform. Our members include independent providers that may work on their own or in small groups, as well as employees and contractors working within doula organizations, collectives and other structures. When you book with the Okkanti CareFinder, each provider’s affiliated organization is identified. Visit the links to learn more about each organization and what they may offer. If the provider is independent, this will be identified as well. Okkanti provides 1099s to all of our providers/provider organizations.
How do I move ahead with a provider I want to work with?
The terms and conditions of our agreements are available in your portal. For consultations that are booked individually, you’ll pay as you book that visit. When you book your package, your account will be loaded with the visits included in your package. Labor support packages, for instance, have 2 prenatal visits of 90 minutes that you can schedule as soon as as you’ve completed the booking. Postpartum care is booked in 4 or 8 hour blocks. Keep in mind that you have to choose your appointment type to see the provider’s availability specific to that visit type. There may be a brief delay that allows us to confirm your chosen provider’s availability.
